There is a lot of pros and cons about the new design 50mm summicron built in lens shade.I personally don't like it and prefer the old clip on cut out 12585H. So heres how. I found a old Walz summicron filter at the camera show price $5.00 removed the glass, inserted it in the lens put a small rubber band in the depression between the flange and lens body clipped on the shade and wallah new lens, old shade. the rubber band is nessiary to keep the hood from turning as the the clirs lock into the rubber.Also if you remove the hood, the built in hood still works fine.The fronr cap also locks in the filter ring. NO vinyetting as the complete assembly is onlt 2mm longer than the built in when fully extended.
