The power of Prayer(a must to read)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

Dear Brothers/Sisters in Christ 'A preacher once said that prayer is the greatest power on Earth' Have you ever thought about the power of prayer, I mean the prayer of an humble man. Cause during my year many things happend to and with me but all I did was praying and believing and believe me the Lord realy answered my prayers. Not on my time but in His own time cause I ask God to do His will and He did. So I was thinking, I love the AME church so much that it hurts when I read ect. bad of the church. As any other church problems will come and go.

See I am not concern about the problems that lie ahead but I'm corncern about our attitude towards that problems. How are we gonna overcome it. So i was thinking, what about all AMEC's around the glob ask the Lord to guide us in the year ahead. Let we as AMEC around the glob pray together one specific day asking the Lord to guide and strengthen us for the new year(that's off cause after we thank Him for being born for us during this off the year thousand years ago.) And please let foget about the bad things that happened in our different families but lets build on the good, build on the Lord. "On Christ the solid rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand'

God bless you. Jerome PS. 'Seeking fist the kingdom off God and all other things shall be added unto you'

Jerome your idea is a wonderful idea. I am in the fifth district and my Bishop is Bishop John Bryant. On Dec. 28th We have been asked to pray for our church and our district for 24 hours. I hope other districts will join us for a day of AME unity. Thank you Jerome for reminding us of the power of prayer.

Bro. Jerome,

What a superb idea!!! I love the idea of having all AME's have a day or days of prayer in unisom for the uplift of the AMEC. I have learned that no human being can do anything better than God, therefore why not seek his plans over our own plans through prayer. Once again, thank you for your Holy Spirit inspired request.

We all need prayer. Please pray for the connectional church, episcopal districts, conferences, districts, and local churches that the church of the Living God would "let our lights shine". We all have problems, including the church, but Jesus is still saying to all of us, "let him who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches". UR the church.

Love and peace, Rev. J
