The R5 was first engraved "Made in Portugal" and then "Made in Germany" and the R8 was first engraved "Made in Germany" and now "Made in Portugal".

In this case "Made in Germany" means made in Portugal and finished in Germany. Made in Portugal, means 100% made in Portugal.

M6 is also assembled in Portugal.

AFAIK, Minox GT-E and Minox TLX, CLX are 100% made in Germany, and stamped "Made in Germany"

If a camera was not 100% made in Germany, probably "Made in Germany" could not apply, instead something like "LEICA GmbH Germany" meaning Leica is a German company, with no indication of where the camera was actually made

Leica M and R cameras are assembled by the plant in Vila Nova de Famalicao, Portugal, which also makes binoculars
