Tommy Taylor the Darlington manager's post match comment .... "I thought Gary (Caldwell) was outstanding. I told him that it was going to be a little different that what he’s used to. But he went out there and did a good job and looked composed and in control. For someone of that age I’m pleased with his first game."

As Caldwell jnr seems to be held up as a natural footballing centre half it's good for him to get experience of the rougher side of life, and come out better for it

I really like this lad, and this will be a fantastic learning experience for him. He's 19 now, and really should be pushing for the 1st team next season.
BTW, he is out of contract in the summer and we need to ensure we get him sorted before someone else sees the potential and lures him away.
