??nyc street photogs??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

hello all leicavillians: i am happy i found this message board. well...in august01 i bought a broke r3 body with a 2.8/60 and a 80-200 lens. i paid sufficient $$ to have the camera reconditoned and then i signed up for a (learn your 35mm camera) class at the cooper union here in nyc.

since then i have been on a shooting blitz. i have captured hundreds of images ranging from wtc911 to sckpbbb (senior couple kissing park bench brighton beach).

anyways, i am interested in learning other techniques from street photographers here in nyc. if any of you are reading this and are interested in spending some time shooting w/ me that would be awesome!! also, if anyone knows where i might find a deal on a 28mm lens i would love to know.

well...i hope to hear from you and i hope to contribute to this board some more. peace / rich

Rich -- This is not the list to learn anything about Street Photography, try going to www.Topica.com and look for the Street Photo group. Also check out my SP at www.streetphoto.net/

Rich: I do not live in NYC but rather in Philadelphia. I make trips to New York manily to shoot photographs, visit museums and other cultural events, and explore the sites. It would be good to meet someone with similar interests and do some "street photography". Keep in touch and I will let you know when I plan my next trip to NYC. As it stands now, I will be visiting there sometime in early December.I usually visit Tamarkin and the Leica Gallery whild in NYC. Are you familiar with either or both of these places? Both worth visiting.Check them out when you have the time. You will not be disappointed. Happy Thanksgiving.
