I'm booked on the 4pm train outta King's Cross next Tuesday. Will I make it back for a 7.45 kick off at SJP for the WC game against the Tracta boys?

i was going to say, if you can get an earlier train, do it

I took the 17:30 back yesterday. It left on time and pulled into P'boro (first stop) 5 mins late. But after that, it made up time and actually had to wait a few mins in every station thereafter. Got back to Alnmouth at 20:55 - about 4 mins early. I was staggered (as opposed to staggering) as this is the first time in over the last 5 weeks for me that any train south or northbound has been on time.BTW - I see that Virgin have finally got some spanking new trains. Not before time.

Good to read the news about the Virgin spanking trains. Think I'll book a seat, don't care where really, just so long as I get my turn at the spanking.
