FANTASTIC - Charlton here I come

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Hi all, I'm back online. Anyone even notice ? I've just received confirmation that tix for Charlton away have arrived. Am I excited or what ?!!!

I fly into Heathrow Friday next week. Get to see only second away game in 5 years the following day. Given that my last away fixture was last season's game at Boro does that make me a lucky omen ? I hereby predict that Dyer will make his comeback to smash the capital jinx in front of wor lass making her Newcastle away debut.

Either that or I'll be put on the first plane back to Oz ...

ok, who's gonna tell Loony about the strike?

Hmmm. Just read the strike thread Geordie. If anyone has a spanner I could always get to work on the cameras when I arrive on Friday and hoy them out of the Valley ??

The only good news (speaking selfishly) is that I'm around until the end of December and hope to get to another 4 or 5 games. Assuming common sense prevails of course and any action is over with by then. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about

Has everyone else received their Charlton tix? bit worried that my application was too late.

Dave, got my 2 Saturday, but I only mailed the applications on the Friday before the Tuesday deadline. Give them a ring. If you call now you might get someone answering by 5:00pm tonight. Failing that you could try a tout. There was a Geordie tout in the Duke's Head Saturday with a handful of tickets for both ends.

Do you know how many we were allocated Terry? I'm pretty sure our application went in after the deadline. .com doesn't say they've all gone and they're normally a lot more reliable than the club.

Dave, don't know how many we applied for, but obviously not enough. Not all season ticket holders who applied for Charlton tickets actually got them, ie as ever in London demand exceeded supply (when will NUFC ever learn), but if you ring up, as a season ticket holder they will give you first shout for any that are returned to them. I'll also ask someone in Newcastle who belatedly told me that he could have gotten me tickets for Fulham after they had sold out. Probably BS, but you never know.

Cheers Terry, could be a good thing, maybe we'll win if I don't go.
