Bellamy's ban?

When will he miss a game? I thought it would be Charlton.

Wonder who will get his place? I suggest BR gives Lua Lua a run out, with Shola on standby.

According to .cock (there's another one for you Dougal) he has only got 4 yellows. Of course, being .cock, it doesn't have a date on the table. As for who would replace him assuming, I'd give either Lua x2 a go or maybe move Robert up front and bring Bernard in (assuming he's avail after his ban. However, if CB does indeed have 5 yellows, won't the ban kick in next week against Ipswich??

.cock says he has 4 yellows but I think he got another one against Fulham.

There is a lot of confusion over this. The radio commentators thought Bellamy was booked when it was actually Shearer. I imagine that the scene was Shearer getting angry about the non-second-pen and overstepping the mark. Once the card was coming out he would have walked away whilst Bellamy would have carried on waving his arms about and mouthing off. When the card came out Bellamy was the one who seemed to be in conference with the ref. The independent radio bods (Metro in this case) send a report to every other radio station and so everyone picks up the same info and put it in their match reports. When the ref puts in his report, the error is realised. Soccerbase.com give full match details within 2 hours of the final whistle, and on Saturday they gave Bellamy as booked (I know this because I copy their info into my database before cross-referencing with nufc.com) and they have since altered the sixth booking to Shearer.

To cut an unfeasibly long story short: Bellamy wasn't booked and remains on 4 yellows where he has been joined by Robert who is also now one booking away from suspension.

..... and with our luck they'll both get suspended for the same game!

I wonder how we would line up without Bellamy and Robert.

Would we play another centre midfielder, maybe Lua Lua on left wing?

..... a lot depends on whether Dyer is fit before they both talk themselves into a suspension. Bernard or Luax2 could do a turn on the LW, allowing KD to fit in beside AS. However, if KD still wasn't available, our fabled "strength-in-depth" begins to look a bit dodgy. I guess Shola would come in for Bellamy.

wait and see. Bellendamy will be suspended sooner or later, and if Robert doesn't pull his finger out, I'd be tempted to drop him.

Nick, I read an interview with him in a French newspaper and I don't think we can drop him this season unless he's injured: I think it may even be a contractual term. He came here in preference to Valencia and Bayern because we GUARANTEED him first team football every week.

dougal... that's bollox. No-one would ever get a contract like that... even if it was signed by the master idiots in charge of NUFC. YBR would certainly not sign up to it
