Confirmed by icDP:

Newcastle United have confirmed that David Geddis has joined Bobby Robson's coaching staff. The 43-year-old former Ipswich striker has been reunited with his old manager on a three-month contract which runs until the end of February. "We are very pleased to have added David to our team of coaches at St. James' Park," said Robson. "I have known him for over 25 years and am sure he will do a very good job for us." Geddis, a member of Town's FA Cup-winning side in 1978, was most recently on the staff at Middlesbrough under Bryan Robson, but left after Steve McClaren arrived and brought in his own coaches. He will work alongside the United boss and first-team coach John Carver after a move which has seen Robson's back-up return to full strength following former number two Mick Wadsworth's departure on the eve of the new season.

.....yep, 4th or 5th choice at the Riverside is clearly good enough for us. I guess Alain Perrin must have turned us down.

We didn't really want Bellamy when he first came to us, hopefully this bloke will have a similar effect. (Although how you measure the performance of an assistant manager is probably somewhat complicated)

Has he ever studied sports psychology?

Studied it? I doubt if he can even spell it.

I don't believe Geddis has been brought in as Asst. Manager, just a member of the coaching staff.

One would hope so with a 3 month contract unless there's something somebody's not telling us? Surely not!
