Weekly thread for 'Plain Talkin'...11/19-11/25

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

This is a thread for saying what's on your mind at the moment. Something you don't really need a whole thread for. Like the over-the-fence chat I started on Countryside.

We're finally getting some much needed rain, we've had such beautiful weather this fall, but we knew it couldn't last forever.

I've learned how to live without a sink and it's not too bad.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, God Bless.

I had seen these on Countryside, but didn't know their purpose. Okay, so I just say something that is on my mind? That is scarey! Glad to hear someone is having rain. We are having drought conditions.

Our weather sounds the same, of course. I went up to the Notre Dame- Navy game Saturday and during the drive up there kept thinking the fog would burn off. It didn't burn off even during the game (2:30 kickoff). We left at halftime (4:30) and the drive back was terrible even then.

Normally a 75 to 90 minute drive, we got back into town here at 7:00. Traffic lights weren't visible until you were within a couple hundred feet. At least I didn't have to set the alarm to get up to see the meteor shower. ;o)

We stopped for breakfast at a little restaurant in a small town on the way. One of my favorite things about doing that is striking up conversations with locals there.

I get so tired of what I've come to call 'Generica' (the generic places you see in any mid to larger size town). I can go to McDonald's or Applebee's or Pizza Hut anywhere. I like taking advantage of being in a different place by trying some of the local fare.

Well, it's a short work week here so I'd better get to it. Have a nice Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm excited and nervous this week because Eldest is coming home for Thanksgiving!(Nervous after seeing another plane fall out of the sky last week--but my son isn't worried at all, so we're going ahead with it.) Also just a wee bit nervous to see how much he's changed and more especially to have to let him go again come Saturday!!...... Hubby has taken the week off(you know, the "use it or lose it" vacation time) and I am still hoping(again) to get my chickens in the barn this week;) As cold and icy as it is outside, I don't know if he'll be able to finish up the barn this week or not. (Thanks, Cindy, for this thread--can anyone tell me how to make paragraphs?)

It is really windy here today! I've been up since 3:50 a.m. That is unheard of for me! Hubby had to leave for work at 4:20 a.m. I'm just a little nervous about having eye surgery this afternoon. I'm having a cyst removed from my eyeball. Fun!

Oh, Jo, no wonder you didn't go back to sleep! Is this laser surgery? Let us know how it goes; we'll be thinking about you.

Thanks, Cindy, that just sounds too easy!!;)
