Whinging cockneys

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

This was discussed yesterday on the Daily Toon since Greenspun shut down on compassionate grounds, but did anyone else hear that moron Hoddle whinging on about how it's harder for London teams to do well because they have "so many derbies"? The Spurs media-stranglehold is such that this ridiculous assertion went completely unchallenged. Whatever next, Marton O'Neill complaining that it's tougher at Celtic because all the sides they come up against are Scottish and want to break the Old Firm dominance?

You'd have thought that after his un-Christian remarks about disabled people paying for sins in a previous life that anything he said would be ripped apart until he did the decent thing and retired to Waco where he belongs, but oh no, now he's at Tottenham he can do no wrong and he actually probably only said those things to get SGE into the England job and himself in at Spurs because he's such a visionary.

I have this argument at work as well... with Spurs fans as it happens... and this pre-dates Hoddle so it must just be the air in N. London

All London clubs should have to travel to eight matches in Northumbria each season.... that'd fettle 'em

I'm amazed to hear myself saying this but I actually think I dislike Hoddle more than I disliked George Graham: I dunno whether it's cos he thinks he's being devious or whether it's because he looks shifty, but I detest the bloke. I suppose "Glenn ODD-ELLS's blue and white army" is an improvement on "The man in the raincoat's blue and white army".

That morose funeral march of a chant is awful. I dislike Hoddle because of his treatment of Southampton. Guess that explains his acceptance of Sol Campbell's up-sticks.

Talking of which, I noticed in yesterday's papers several journos getting very hot and bothered about the Spurs fans' protests, and one published a photo of several fans holding up cards with 'JUDAS' on them. Curiously one chap managed to hold his card upside down. That'll show the turncoat...

Perhaps holding up signs with "JUDE" on might be more appropriate...the patron saint of hopeless causes.

Hoddle makes my knuckles itch, always has done...

Some recent survey revealed that people in the north trust people with a cockney accent the least.

That's why Hoddle and Gregory aren't exactly loved up here, and we don't trust Wozza when he's on the ball either.

Hoddle is an idiot, and should be shot. It would be quite ironic if he became disabled and people started asking what he had done in his former lives.

Well actually, I reckon Glenda has done a good job so far with Spurs. Can't stand him mind!

Sorry, I've been AWOL, would someone (Softie?) please explain:

"...since Greenspun shut down on compassionate grounds"?

Welcome back Bud - you're disappearance was noted.

The bbs was down recently for a couple of days for reasons we never seem to find out.
As you can imagine this induced a certain amount of panic, and an uncanny, if temporary, increase in commercial productivity around the globe! ;o{]

Thanks clarky, I heard a rumour (ex. Derek in Hong Kong) that one of our brethren was not well (who was that?), so Softie's "compassionate" reasons" raised an alarm.

Bud - I think Clarky was referring to a well-timed outage ath GREENSPUN.COM - after the Fulham debacle perhaps??

As for not being very well - it was me. After the Fulham game :-(
