Leica Magnifier 1.25x on Konica Hexar RF?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I don't even know if this is possible, but has anyone tried to add the new Leica 1.25x magnifier to the Konica Hexar RF viewfinder? It would be pretty neat if it worked. It would be very useful for focusing with longer lenses.

Great idea, but unfortunately the Hexar eyepiece has a larger thread size.

To expand on what Jack said, the Hexar eyepiece is meant to be unscrewed from the body and replaced with corrective eyepieces, while the Leica eyepiece is supposed to remain permanently attached but has a thread just inboard of the rubber ring which accepts correction diopters--or the 1.25x magnifier. So there might be a solution re: the Hexar. *If* (and I'll have to check this out when I can) the 1.25x provides a clear view when placed behind the Hexar's eyepiece, then one could mount it permanently using JB-Weld or epoxy, and simply purchase a spare standard eyepiece. The two could then be interchanged at will.
