I asked Julie to post this here, but she hasn't yet, and I managed to finally get online. There is something amiss with my computer display, and since it is a laptop, it may take the whole thing out of commission for awhile. >:-(

So, if I disappear, that is most likely WHY. You can always ask Julie what she knows. Nobody do anything weird to the forum that needs fixing, since I won't be able to do anything for awhile!

However, since I finally managed to get in here, perhaps all my fiddling has fixed the problem. I'm not taking that chance though, I'm posting this while I know I CAN get in here! Wish me luck!

Joy, wish I could help. All I can do is give you bad news. Well, maybe yours won't be bad news but the last time I had a display problem with one of my laptops, I figured it was shot. It was. I took it to the shop and when they told me what they wanted to repair it, I opted for a new one. Those little devils are expensive to get repaired. I've often wondered, since I was in the Ft. Worth/Dallas area at the time, if I could have found a computer repair course that was being taught somewhere. They might have needed computers to repair and would possibly have done it for the price of the parts. I never checked into it because I had already bought a new computer and didn't want to know if I'd screwed up. Ignorance is bliss. I'm so blissful.

Fortunately, Joy does have a friend who is very good with computers, so maybe he can straighten the little booger out before too long. I suddenly find just HOW many times a day I email her. Guess we'll just have to run up the telephone bills again for a while if Dan can't bail her out.

In the meantime, I suggest we all wear lampshades and have a party!! (I'm looking around the house for a really GOOD one, even as we speak- - but I'm not finding any with big cabbage roses and fringe on them. Darn!)

I got a message from Joy tonight and she's having real troubles with the computer and Dan can't help her out. She says she doesn't know when or how she's going to get it back up and running, and is busily saving everything to disc that she can.
