It's Fortuna from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff...at least that's what somebody with a bit of culture might tell you. It's considered to be a very pious piece of music (away from Old Spice ads and The Omen) but is apparently all about a group of monks fantasising about the local village girls who do the washing on the other side of the stream. Dirty buggers.

The title "Carmina Burana" literally means 'songs of Beuren' and was given by Johann Andreas Schmeller to his complete edition (1847) of the poems contained in an early 13th-century German manuscript (found in 1803) from the Benedictine abbey of Benediktbeuern, south of Munich in the Bavarian region.

So, here is one of the songs in Latin - with English translation should anyone need it!

19. Si puer cum puellula (If a boy with a girl)

Si puer cum puellula If a boy with a girl moraretur in cellula, tarries in a little room, felix coniunctio. happy is their coupling. Amore suscrescente Love rises up, pariter e medio and between them avulso procul tedio, prudery is driven away, fit ludus ineffabilis an ineffable game begins membris, lacertis, labii in their limbs, arms and lips.

Could it have been a 'stimulus' to our Kieron?

Inspired a lot of our players 2 seasons ago if last year's baby boom is anything to go by.

We'll have to try singing that at the next match. Mind, it might tek a few practice sessions in the Straabeery forst ;-)

My wife sang in a choir that performed Carmina Buritto last year. It's very good, but was slated when first performed for both the dubious lyrical mix n' match language content and it's modernistic overtones.

Worth seeing it live with a big orchestra to get full effect.

As an aside, I think we'd be better off seeing the team run on to the pitch to the Flumpets theme tune, accompanied by 50,000 Mags on kazoos

How about'bring on the clowns?'

Or 'pretty vacany?'

Or maybe even 'people=shit' by Slipknot?

SK, Were not looking for tunes for your lot to run out to.

I think Local Hero by Dire Straits is still the best. Dump the Classical music and get some energy going.
