HELP!

The main feeling throughout the poem is one of uncertianty and rising insanity. You have a character who has lost a girl very near to him, so he tries to escape into a world of literature to find an escape from grief, only to be visited by a raven, who seems to be the incarnation of his feelings. He realizes through the raven that his love Lenore is gone, and to be seen "nevermore" and the realization drives the maddening character insane. It usually leaves the reader feeling nervous and saddened by the realization that once something is gone, there is nothing that can be done. I believe that Lenore died, and the story is the realization of one man that the dead are dead and nothing can change that. He does not seem to accept this until the end, though, in a brilliant climax. Hope that helped! - Cheers, Blackraven (Ghost)
