After a week of silence, by the look of the following, taken from the official website, it seems as if the club may be about to climbdown on their discilinary action against the Marbella 4.

On Tuesday afternoon, Newcastle United's Chairman Freddy Shepherd and Manager Bobby Robson, talked to the four players who were sent home from Spain following an alleged breach of club discipline early last week.

The four players were given full opportunity to put their side of the story as to why they had failed to turn up for an official function. The Club will now consider what the players have said and take a decision in due course on any disciplinary action.

The decision will be conveyed to the players privately and neither the Club nor the players will be making any further comments or statements in connection with any aspects of this matter.
