Canon 50mm f/1.2 & LTM

Will a Leica IIIf focus a Canon 50mm f/1.2 wide open accurately? For that matter, how about a Leica III?

I used the 1.2 in the early 80's with my M3 with no problems and am consiering getting one to shoot Delta 3200 with one of my LTM cameras.

Thanks!

My IIf has no problem focussing my Canon 35/1.5 wide open - not quite as challenging, but close to your 50/1.2. In general, I find Leica screw-mounts easier to focus accurately than any other manual-focus camera, even M's.

I think it would be okay; the III/IIIf rangefinder has magnification that should at least make up for the baselength relative to an m3. i use an f/1.4 nikkor without any problems that i've noticed, though again f/1.4 isn't f/1.2.....

Tony, there is no any difference in focussing a Canon f1.2 either with a IIIf or a III. The lens barrel partly cover a VF but focussing is OK. I had two Canon 50/1.2 LTM and can’t recognize them as very good lens because of low contrast and resolving power, vignetting and flare wide open. However for creative work this is good, a great "bokeh"!
