"Toe steppin time" [All preachin]

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Friends and extended family. I am so burdened on my old heart that I must post this in obedience to Him. I don't intend to step on any toes but then again---some will be stepped on. The lost souls around us are quickly running out of time to repent and be saved. Jesus Christ is MUCH closer to His return than most folks realize. Too many people that call themselves "Christian" are not looking for His return any time soon. They are wrong! His coming will happen and those folks won't even know it's all over with and precious loved ones and family members will be left behind.

He wants ALL His people to get busy and tell others about Him. Eternity is a very long time to spend in hell. Please take some time and "talk to Him" about this very serious matter. It is a command from Him to "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every living creature"---. Are you? Why not? Ashamed of Him? He died for ALL and if ALL don't trust Him then He died in vain for those precious folks. Time to get busy and start spreading the Gospel to all you come into contact with. If you are too bashful ask Him to give you the strength and Grace to do it. Enclose Bible Tracts into all your outgoing mail. I do--not because I'm bashful but mainly because it's just another way to witness.

We don't know how many lost people are reading what we write or open the letters, bills etc. that we send out. Surely one soul is worth the extra effort required to witness to them.

I also save all those prepaid envelopes that are ALWAYS in my mailbox. Most of'm are from credit card companies. They get a healthy dose of Christianity when they open'n up. The Bible Tracts are free in a few places and in others a very small amount of cash. If ya'll want to know where I get mine just let me know and I'll post the addy etc. These suppliers are also a good place to send a little cash to help in the printing costs for those folks that don't have the money to buy'm. old hoot gibson. Matt.24:44

I heard a very interesting thing on the Christian radio station the other day..apparently CS Lewis once remarked that "Everyone you meet is an immortal being." My ears perked up at that one. Each human being WILL live forever, one way or the other..yikes, gave me chills to contemplate it..I thought about my neighbor down the road whom I dislike immensely..he's "seedy" and "gnarly" and doesn't take good care of his dogs...he loves to fire off his semi-automatic as he lays on the hood of his crummy car which is parked in front of his ramshackle trailer..hmmm, he is immortal..the man has an immortal soul which IS going either one way or the other eventually. Now, knowing this, I sit on my immaculate porch, rubbing my well-fed dog's ears, my long hair done up in a mid-back braid by my loving husband, waiting to go to church and praise God. Well, aren't I just the righteous soul??????? Hoot, you and CS Lewis are great teachers.....tomorrow, (if I am blessed with tomorrow), I will manage to hobble over to that trailer and leave a nice fresh loaf of bread for my neighbor with a note attached, inviting him to join us this next Sunday. Thank you, Hoot!
