A bit of a slow day

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I see the keyboards have slowed down a bit today, maybe because its a holiday, its after four here and the thoughts of supper is on my mine. Tonight it will be a fist size chunk of beef roast, pressured cooked to shreds, then while simmering I will add onion, garlic, and a healthy dose of itilian seasonings. A heavy dash of soy sauce, a splash of vinegar, a couple tablespoons of molassas, 1/4 cup of crushed pineapple, mushroom bits and pieces, and 3/4 cup of crushed tomatoes in puree. This will simmer slow while I whip up two mini loaves of my own version of yeast bread. This simmering mix will go over either yellow rice or noodles, one now, the other tomorrow at lunch when I reheat and add stir fry veggies.

Off the thread a bit but does any one remember the name of the new star trek show and when it comes on?

Mitch, do you care to share your recipe for the yeast bread? Is it "quick and easy", I'm rather cooking impaired :-)!!!

I just now signed on. Things will probably pick up now that the sun has gone down. Just wanted to tell you (in response to your question on Countryside about goats)... We don't have goats yet, but my sister- in-law's does just kidded this weekend and we will be getting 2 of them. They are growing in popularity around here.

Mitch, it's called Enterprise. We get it on a variety of stations, we have a satellite (Canadian). I believe it is carried by the UPN "network". If you watched Voyageur on a regular basis, I'd bet you could find Enterprise on the same station(s).

As the recipe for my yeast bread is a hybird between yeast rolls and wheat bread I will need to do it again and measure to creat a recipe; recipes are like sergants: they have a place but not really. My Direct tv. dish does not offer UPN, ask your dish dealer for a complete service dish. I do not get direct service even though I pay for it.....
