Nobby May Play for Peru Again!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

The S/Sun carries a story that Solano used his trip to play in Maradona's Tesimonial game to take part in a secret meeting with the Peru squad that was preparing for the game with Argentina in mid-week.

He was the only non-squad player at the meeting, and the rumours are that the players have decided to demand the resignation of the National Team Coach, Julio Aribe - who has vowed never to pick Solano again - if the Peruvian FA don't decide to dismiss him themselves.

This raises the possibility of Nobs returning to the international fold next year ahead of the 2003 Copa America - despite the latest of his 'understandings' with BR.

A Peruvian coup d'etat?

Might as well get everything out in the open now. Just needs Bobby to start hinting he's had enough and for Alan's legs to revert to type and we'll be as far back as ever.

Is Solano really as two faced as he's starting to come across ?

If solano had 2 faces he would not use that one surely!!!!!!!!!!!

What's wrong with Solano's face?! It's not that bad! Certainly not the worst looking in the team that's for sure. No pin up boy but certainly not hideous. Poor Nobby.

(BTW SK - are you going to reply to evry post on here today? Just wondering like.....)

Off topic but 1) Nobby apparently did play and I know that Cantona scored but haven't got any further info. 2) According to a reliable source, well, erm, the Sunday People, we are going to swap Marcelino and Solano for that Musampa (sp??).

The S/Sun reckon we're also interested in Seville's 25 yr-old defensive midfield player, Fransisco Casquero. They say we had watched last night against Real Betis, after BR and SJH saw him play an outstanding game last week, including scoring a goal, in Seville's 3-1 defeat of Malaga. Apparently, he has been receiving rave reviews all season.

They reckon he could he acquired for about £3mm - considerably cheaper than either Musampa or Emerton.
