Soops and Sinclair both play for England.
With YMO not being risked, SKP gets his big chance to impress SGE.

Phillips is doing better than I thought he would although, much as I hate YMO, I reckon Phillips will always be second if it comes to a straight choice between those two.

Woo hoo: well done Sverige! Since it's a friendly, you want a game of it.

Funny, I thought Phillips was doing OK, but I was just looking at the F365 and BBC message boards and they are going mental about how crap he's doing. Maybe I was overcompensation for my natural antipathy towards him by saying he was doing well??

Ken, I'm not listening to a webcast but to the radio--however, if you want minute-by-minute action, try http://www.football365.co.uk

Incidentally, isn't it interesting that Sven won't risk a player from a club ith loads of strikers but will risk the only real asset of another club...

Barstewards took the webcast off about 30 sec after ko. It's blocked on Talksport too. After a computer crash, I'm now on a mission to find a webcast of the Ireland match. Somehow I have a feeling I'm going to be listening in Farsi! ;-)

Well, it was only a friendly I suppose, but I thought England were poor. Didn't create that much, never in control in m/f, and didn't look all that comfortable in defence. In particular our passing was dreadful.

Scholes, Becks and Butt did OK. Ferdinand as usual did a lot of good things, but he just doesn't seem to gel with any defensive partner - this is essential if we are to form an effective defensive unit for the WC.

Soops didn't do badly with limited opportunities, but I thought Sinclair looked lost on the left wing.

All in all, a big yawn.

Sewar Kev did OK - certainly as good as Andrew Cole has ever doen for England. Thought Sinclair did LKD's chances of making the LW slot his own no harm at all.
