My day so far...

I had a dream early this morning about me and my friend Karen. In this dream we were lying on the grass at university. The sun was shining on us, and we had our eyes closed. Somebody was picking pieces of grass and sprinkling then on our legs. I could actually feel the sun on my eyelids, even though it was dream.

When I woke up, I wished I was still having the dream, because I miss Karen very much and because I was still tired. But I got up because I had to do my Magnum talk at the art gallery. Nobody else was at home, but that was not surprising because they weren't there when I went to sleep either. Katharine is in Queenstown and Kirsten is in Oamaru. I think Kara is in the Milford Sound, but I am not entirely sure.

I had toast and coffee. I sat at the breakfast table in my pyjamas and slippers and I entered a competitiion while I was eating. It was a fun competition because what you have to do is buy a specially marked coke bottle, and send a code that is printed on it as a text message to a special number and then it texts you right back immediately telling you what you have won.
I won a discount on a movie at either Hoyts or Rialto, if I go on Monday or Wednesday. That is a stupid prize because after I have paid for the coke and the text message, the discount is 10 cents. But it was fun entering. I also played a game of Boggle, but I discovered that it isn't as fun by yourself.

Then I had a shower. In the shower I sang 'Everybody loves me but you' by Juliana Hatfield. I love that song so much. I had a very long shower and I used a fancy Elizabeth Arden shower gel, which smells sort of too sophisticated for me. I prefer the Lux ones, that smell like different kinds of fruit. When I got out of the shower I put on the Juliana Hatfield CD and sang along to the same song I sang in the shower while I chose my clothes. I chose grey pants, a black sleeveless top that has a low v-shaped back and black shoes. I couldn't find my black ballerina cardigan, so I chose a dark denim jacket for warmth.

I rushed around trying to remember what I needed to take with me. I couldn't find my clipboard with my Magnum notes. Then I remembered that I had left it at art school, so I had to move even faster to compensate time to get there before going to the gallery. There was no mail today. Nothing of interest happened on my way to school.

When I got to school my rushing appeared to have paid off because I had time to check my email. I had three really nice emails, they made me feel warm and squiggly inside. I walked into town. I stopped at a Starmart and bought a bottle of mandarin flavoured Mizone Sportswater and a packet of Extra chewing gum. The man behind the counter told me to have a nice day, and I could tell he really meant it.

When I got to the gallery lots of people asked me about the weather and made other pleasantries. There is one security gaurd there who I really like. Actually her husband is a security gaurd there too, and I remember when I first discovered that I felt happy and warm inside, because she had told me that sometimes being a security guard was very boring. Today when I saw her I fleetingly wondered if I will ever get married.
There were seven people at my talk today. Two of them were girls, maybe a little older than me, from the USA. They were really nice and interested and polite and chatty. The four other people tried to trip me up with stupid questions all the time, but it didn't work, because I was feeling very alert and on-my-feet and anyway, I knew far more than them to begin with.

After my talk was over I rushed home to change and have lunch. nothing of interest happened on the walk home.
At home I put on a Veruca Salt CD and put a big pile of sheets and towels in the washing machine. I had a poached egg on toast and a cup of tea for lunch. the secret to poaching eggs is in the timing: put the egg into simmering NOT BOILING water, put the toast into the toaster. When the toast pops up, it's time to remove the egg. easy!

I changed my clothes, a pair of dark blue flared jeans, a red t-shirt with the Shihad 'General Electric' logo on it and my black Globe sneakers. Sideshow has the same sneakers as these!
I sent Maryann a text message.
rainy: WANT 2 MEET?
manny: YS PLZ @ COMPS!
rainy: C U 20 MINS
Nothing interesting happened on the way to the library. When I got there Manny and Duane were using the computers. They took a break with me. We sat on the blue comfy chairs, and we had various snacks:
coffee from a thermos that I made when I was making the eggs
sour cream and chives flavoured grainwaves
white chocolate
chocolate biscuit.

While we were eating our snacks we talked about things:
trains and other modes of transportation
going home for Christmas and other plans
um, I don't remember what else, just nice things though

After that we all went back into the library and played on the computers. I went on ILE a little bit. Then I got restless to come to art school so I had to leave. I wanted to stay because Manny is leaving soon and I want to spend as much time as possible with her. but stress from school makes me restless all the time, even when I should be relaxing.

When I got to school I saw one of my tutors, Di Halstead, and she hugged me. I asked her for some panadol for my perpetual headache and she gave me two. I saw Wendy and we hugged each other. She is having the same issues as me with the colour processor. We had a big talk with Di and we decided that it is not worth trying to print our own photographs with that hunk of junk and now it has transpired we will be getting our photographs printed commercially and the school will pay for it. That is the best news I have heard in about a killion weeks!

While I have been sitting here I have recieved emails from Simon and Karen. I will be talking to Karen tonight on the phone! I will tell her about my dream I had this morning about her and me.

I am now having a nice cup of tea, Earl Grey, an orange and a banana. The orange tastes a bit like nothing. The banana tastes just the way a banana should. My headache is gone.

all I will say is that I was awoken by a chest of drwers falling from a great height, my intellectual property rights were breached before lunchtime, and I bought somebody a scotch egg as a gift.
