I thought they had Bagram Airport.

Don't think I heard that. Maybe you're thinking of that initial Delta raid on the Taliban airbase?

9:40 AM - Harrigan reporting Alliance is still on the move, several tanks, several hundred infantry, firing ahead--still no return fire (yet). Commanders have told him they are moving into position but it is not clear when they will actually attack.

tanks? infantry? I thought they were using pack animals!

I too had heard they were using horses in cavalry charges but I wonder if those stories were apocryphal?

I'm kinda worried that there is no resistance, neither here nor Mazar-e-Sharif. The last figures I saw said the Taliban had 40-50,000 troops. Where the hell are they? They can't all have gone into caves or succumbed to Daisy Cutters. They're plotting some surprise, count on Maybe a suitcase nuke in those towns, set to go off as soon as the US has established a base?
