Today my oldest got a handout about MENINGITIS from school. It described all the symptoms I had over the weekend. But my symptoms have mostly gone away, so I'm diagnosing myself with viral meningitis and not the deadly bacterial one.

Kudos to the reader who called it and wrote it. I need to find the email and announce her name on the next entry...

Did you see that I was actually lying, though? The day that I went to the doctor and was told that I didn't have meningitis -- just a bacterial infection (in my HEAD - gross!) with similar symptoms -- I got another handout from my son's school. It was all, "We are sorry for the confusion, but there is no one with meningitis at the school. We just sent y'all that letter the other day because state law mandates it. Repeating: THERE IS NO MENINGITIS EPIDEMIC AT HAWTHORNE ELEMENTARY. So calm down, you hypo-freaking-chondriacs."
