Need a M3 take up spool.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Earlier this year I purchased a leica M3 double stroke that has been thru the mill a couple of times. the bottom plate was missing as was the take up spool. However it had a 35mm summicron on it and every thing works. I have found a bottom plate but the man i got it from said he almost never comes across the spools because people who have them hold on to them.IF anyone has one for sale or can help me in locating one I will be for ever in your debt. I want to get it working have always wanted one the thing is a real beast but hay its a Leica.

I want to thank you very very much DON. I called today and placed the order as they have one. This will finish up the parts I need. Now all I am going to need to find is a 35mm finder and a 90mm 2.8 tele elmarit in goood shape. However this will alow me to run a few rolls of B&W film thru this beast to check every thing out.I am certain it needs to be serviced. No fooling. Will need to find a service person who has a good sence of humer as this thing is uggggley. Maybe they wont condemn it.Thank you again.
