Apparently, Steve Caldwell is doing really well at Blackpool and they are very much hoping we'll give him a free transfer. Interestingly, he's been playing in midfield for a game or so. It's a shame because, with O'Brien doing so well and Distin being in front of him, I can't see him playing for us regularly.

He played the midfiled killer role for Scotland when he came on against Poland and completely nullfied their best player who'd been running the game.

I suspect/hope he is getting good first team action in readiness for a return to us. Centre halves get suspensions and injuries as part of the job, we have Distin who is so far totally unknown, Hughes then we're starting to have to look at Elliot out of position, or whathisname with the centre parting out of position. Caldwell won't be sold in the short term. (Maybe this should go in Buffs prediction bit !)

Unfortunately, MacB, I think his contract runs out in the summer so unless he gets some first team football, I can't see him sticking around whatever NUFC may say about it... Separately, Glass is starting to get one or two diabolical write-ups at Watford...

Sorry, MacB, I've read three different dates for the expiry of his contract so, in fact, he may have longer than June next year.
