Wood stain--how to get it outgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread |
The pulpit area of our church was decorated for fall, with pumpkins, etc. Yesterday we noticed a black spot on the communion table where a pumpkin was resting. One of the deacons tried Murphy's Oil Soap, but it didn't touch it. Is there anything we can do without stripping, sanding, refinishing?

A doily!!Last fall I did this to an old wood table at church. We couldn't find anything to take it out. We tried every thing and made it worse. I did notice not to long ago it seemed almost gone, but still a shade darker.!

Maybe a very weak solution of bleach and water? You have nothing to lose by carefully blotting it on the spot and wiping carefully. I have done this on some wood items where I had a plant sitting and it got wet and mildewed a little.

Real mayo sometimes does the trick on wood.
