The Holocaust was a tragedy that affected the entire world. A time when a religion was discriminated and killed for their beliefs. Almost half of the Jewish population was wiped out because of the Holocaust. Adolf Hitler used propaganda to convince people that people who followed Jewish practices were a lesser kin and should be looked down upon. Because of this man's hatred millions were killed and the whole Jewish population was affected. Around six years after the Holocaust began USA got involved with the situation. Over a two year time span with allis they conquored the pro Hitler forces. Even though this certain event occured that should affect how every person views life some people still hold this same hatred. The KKK and other discrimitive forces still look down on the practice of Judiasm. Known as one of the most disgusting acts of the world's history this event will be ever imprinted into the minds of modern day people.

What is the Holocaust?

The Holocaust was a time period during world war two when Jews were descriminated against. Jews, handicapps, etc., were treated miserably by mainly Germans. Many hid, for if they were captured many would be thrown into labor or concentration camps were they would meet a terrible fate. Some starved to death, or died of many diseases such as typhus, and lastly of being over worked. Many were also brought to concentration camps where they were forced to disrobe and than put into a "shower" where they were gassed. For others, some were spared from the chamber and starved to death. Many also froze from the cold winters (all they mainly wore were sacks or mens shirts). Still there is much more to tell about the Holocaust, but not enough room.

The Holocaust was Hitler's attempt to rid Europe of Jews. The Nazis killed the Jewish people or put them in concentration camps for their beliefs.

Holocaust

I know what the Holocaust was and I think it was competly needless. It really accomplished nothing other than mass killing of people, which in itself is horrible. It should have never happened and I think everyone should have done a lot more to stop it earlier.

Holocaust Reply

The word holocaust actually means mass killings using fire (I think). This period involved the persecutions of jews, gypsies, and gays. The leader of the group that orchestrated was Adolph Hitler. His group was called the Nazi's and they were founded in a bar room with a few other men. They wanted to rid Europe of jews, and these mass killings were killed a genocide. They would take the jewish to their concentration camps (the main one was Auchwitz, Burgen-Belsen) where they were killed most of the time and few escaped. Today, there are still reminders of what happened such as the large piles of shoes and gold teeth caps. This is remembered as possibly one of the saddest times in world history.
