Thursdays brain thumper stumper

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I think it is Thursday, I lose track in that I have no schedule to follow. The stray scratch cat I mentioned earlier is now doing a tin can of cat food breakfast, we have got to the scratch behind the ears stage but the cat still avoids being picked up. I will call the shelters today and report it found.

On to the question: What is the most often used street name in America?

Thats a pretty simple one isn't it? I will be gone most of the day for a medical appointment and so you will have to torment each other today, enjoy.~

I'm going to go for the obvious and say MAIN ,which I know probably can't be right...

I think that I read somewhere that it's Maple Street, but I could be wrong.

I put my vote in for main street

How about Broadway? Seems like every town I've lived in, from the biggest to the smallest always has a Broadway.

Another idea could possibly , first street.

Ooh, Jillian! I'll bet it's Second Street! So many cities don't have first street (they use Main or Broadway instead), but every town has a Second street! I'll bet that's it!

I think I'll go with Elm.

-- Janet in Kansas (whisperingpines@terraworld.net), November 01, 2001.

How about Smith Street?

-- Micheale from SE Kansas (mbfrye@totelcsi.net), November 01, 2001.

I'm going to agree with Janet and go with "ELM" street.

-- Kelly in Ky (ksaderholm@yahoo.com), November 01, 2001.

I know it used to be elm, but that may have changed withall the dutch elm disease destroying all those beautiful giant elms.

Talk to you later.

I'm going to go with Central. That's a name most towns have. Second choice would be Main.

In thinking about it I will change and go with maple. I agree with Sherri in that I believe I heard it somewhere and was shocked that it wasn't main.

-- mindy (speciallady@countrylife.net), November 01, 2001.

I think I'll add to this one and say Washington. Seems every town I've ever been to/thru has the presidents names somewhere. Main would be my next choice.

Yes, there is a correct answer posted and the connection word was "simple", at least I didn't get spiked by an 11 year old again Cheryl. The correct answer is 2nd street.

Yeehaw! But 1/2 the credit HAS to go to Jillian, because if she hadn't said First Street, the thought of Second Street wouldn't have popped into my teeny tiny little brain. So, thanks Jillian, and thanks, Mitch. And Mitch, I sure hope everything went well at your medical appointment today.
