Thanks for nothing, Buddy

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Poole's Roost II : One Thread

By calling attention to our Currents forum, on this forum, you have done two things. I say "our" forum because I am involved with it (unlike the original TB2000, where I was never involved at all in the management of that forum).

(1) First thing (harmless): You have led to ridiculous remarks being made. CPR apparently took a brief glance and pronounced it the same old TB2000 bunch minus the grossly fat Dennis. That is totally absurd. The only two people I know of who both posted on old TB2000 and are involved with Currents are Old Git and myself. There may be a few other mostly silent types who considered themselves members of both forums, but I don't know about them.

As far as political extremism goes, Currents is mainly George W. supporters. I can't recall a post any further to the right, although I may have missed something. But the more liberal minority (mainly me) are certainly free to speak their mind. I have said that W. "ought to have his ass roasted" for his environmental record. And I have stuck up for Cynthia MsKinney, being a minority of one there. And I'm still in good standing. The point I'm getting around to is that there is no censorship of an honest but differing political viewpoint.

And to top it off, CPR, religious extremism is banned. That was a main reason why Currents was set up in the first place, to get away from the religious arguments which were destroying EZ-TB2000 (which forum, for your information, I never had anything to do with). It's not that we are anti-religious, but there is a time and place for everything, and we leave people's religion to their private lives.

And another thing, we never discuss Y2K.

But I said "harmless", because, frankly, who cares what you think, as long as you keep it to yourselves.

(2) Not Harmless: There are at least two infamous trolls (LL and Louis) whom you have alerted to the fact of Currents' existence. We've already been hit (by I think LL impersonating CPR telling us to ESAD). CPR, your impersonator is pretty good. Which means that probably Currents will go back to its normal mode of password protection. We opened it up for the Florida recount crisis, and again for the terrorist crisis we are having now, but we aren't going to put up with the troll shit that has afflicted so many other forums.

Peter the Dense seems to have forgotten to post the link to the subject matter above.

This will help him out

Hey, Peter Dimwit:

SEEN "T.K." RECENTLY?

-- Anonymous, November 01, 2001

You're welcome. If you have a problem with someone pointing out a forum which can be found on a list of LUSENET forums available to all...well then, that's your problem.

Buddy, my problem is with some of the company you keep. If you can't even comprehend that CPR and Mr. Polly have written the book on asshole behavior, that's your problem.

ErringBOY writes like a true LEACH from the US Gov't system and a great example of why downsizing DC was the best idea the Conservatives ever had. DC is over. YOU are out of the loop (probably with early retirement) and powerless to impose YOUR DULLARD'S WAYS ANYWHERE.

DEAL WITH IT WHILE YOU ESAD.

HINT; THERE IS NO "CODE OF BEHAVIOR ON THE NET" AND YOU LEAST OF ALL PEOPLE WILL IMPOSE YOUR SO-CALLED "STANDARDS" ON ANYONE.

TRY IT ON ANY FORUM ANYWHERE AND YOU WILL BE FLAMED OFF FAST.

Don't go near USENET Peter. You'd be too scared.

Here's a good forum for you. Found right here on LUSENET.

"The I Love Forcing My Beliefs on People forum"

Peter, I can't believe you're over here whining like this. I know darn well you've seen Hawk harass me constantly, and he's 100X's worse than me, CPR, or Louis ever was! You don't see me crying to Unc, do you?

Cripes, grow a backbone.

OMG! You mean someone posted a notice about a public forum? *gasp* Buddy! What were you thinking?

Rick

I have posted on many forums, including as I recall 4 USENET ones, without any fear of being flamed off (although a couple of foul- mouthed idiots at Debunkers gave it a real try). But life's too short to put up with that stupid shit if you don't have to.

Than it's real simple Peter, you go and create a private forum somewhere else. You put it in a public place and you have NO room to complain. Now I believe recess is over, go back into class. Oh that's right, your not in school anymore, you just act like it. My mistake.

Rick:

The point you have apparently missed, that I clearly made in my opening post, is that Currents has been a private forum to begin with (if by that you mean password protected). We only made it public just now because of the emergency the country is facing, with anthrax and possibly other dire threats.

You seem to think because it is "public" that we can't complain about any behavior. Wrong, bucko.

POOR THING. You can complain all you want.

AND ANYONE CAN LAUGH LIKE HELL AT YOU AND YOUR "ASS__OCIATES" AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.
