You should ask your seed supplier for the recomended rates for each variety you are thinking about.

For most reliable information, go to your county extension agent. They will teach you how and what to buy, hopefully, for your soil and microclimate. If not, ask them to recommend where you may learn this.

Scott, All the answers are good .. here are a couple more. There is a new magazine published in Holmes County Ohio. The title is "Farming" magazine P.O. Box 85 Mount Hope Ohio. This issue has a great article on O.P. corn. a must read ... also a man named Ned Place in Wappaconnetta (spelling ?) Ohio sells several varieties of O.P.corn.Cornell University also has lots of info on this topic Good Luck ... Ralph

Typically, the average bag of seed corn contains 80,000 kernals. So figuring you plant at 18,000 seeds/acre, you'd need two bags to cover your acreage. Ask your seed dealer to be sure though - my experience is only with hybrid seed.

Good luck
