News of Lolo

He isn't in the French squad and when Sportifsonline called him for this week's interview, he was "cloue au lit", literally nailed to his bed or sleeping in. Hmm. How long before he blames being in Newcastle? Fans on his site are going mental about it.

What? Andy Griffin's nailed Lolo to his bed? It thought they kissed and made up. ;-))

They did kiss and make up, it's just it they got a bit friendlier than most thought afterwards

But he hasn't always been a French regular has he?

He's never been a regular but has nine full caps and, I gather, his form has consistently warranted more. I think the problem is that Frnace are well-catered for on the left and Robert Pires is considered more or less the same going forward but better in defence. He also has the advantage of playing in the Champions' League. I'm told that Lolo's high-publicity fallings out with management at PSG and numerous suspensions following red cards is held against him badly. The feeling, apparently, is that Lolo coming to Newcastle has nothing to do with it (after all, Karembeu was in French squads while playing for Boro) but that his history means that he has to do rather better than anyone else to get near the squad. Incidentally, Aaron played against him in a NI-France friendly a couple of years ago!
