There's nothing particularly wrong with the picture, other than its iffy technique. But there's nothing particularly interesting, let along exciting, about it either. It's bland and safe—typical of the "fine art" genre of nudes. If I was a photography instructor and someone submitted this to me for grading, I'd give it a C-.

First reaction: A little low in contrast - the "Edge" starts to lose its edge in the upper left where it fades into the backdrop tonally. And a little too much detail in the backdrop folds and the ripples in the model's back (near bottom) which, again, distract from the Edge.

I feel the image lacks intensity - it needs to go farther either towards deep mysterious tones or towards a delicate high-key rendition. At this point I don't yet see your 'photograph' - it still looks a lot like a snapshot of a naked back in front of a blanket.

I think you have a good idea, but it needs a little more exploration if you can recreate the set-up - especially playing with the lighting a little to 'massage' the tonal values.

You might also want to rethink the backdrop material - the fluffy knap of the blanket a) breaks up the smooth tones of the background, and b) emphasizes the fact that your depth of field didn't extend that far (or so it appears on screen). It either needs to be sharper or softer - and if sharper, of a texture that carries though on the smooth sensuality the overall image seems to be aiming for - a silky or velvety sheen, or something with no texture at all - just the forms of the folds.

Always glad to see someone proving yet again that "the Leica isn't a good studio camera" is just a myth.

I´m agree with your self critique Peter, and I also belive no one can be a better critic of his own work than oneself, is nice to know this humble side of yours. About your pictures Leicadict I can´t see them, could you make them clickable.
