Strawberry Clique

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I may be up for the game on Saturday and may furthermore make my Straaberry bow - between what times on a matchday afty would the clique normally be present, and who expects to be in attendance this Saturday? If I'm allowed, that is.

Dan, if you go in disguise, I'm sure they'll let you in (but not in a Villa shirt). The Cliquettes usually get in circa 13:00 and drift out just in time to get to the game. Dougal normally gets back first after the game - usually about 30 secs after the final whistle. You should expect to see me, Softie, Dougal, Pit Bill, Steph and possibly Jonno, tho he's been absent recently. Dr Bill and Clarky sometimes turn up - usally for afters if not before. Kats and Jay are often there as well with Wonkey (?), and SBA makes the odd cameo appearance. Rumour has it that Min and Sting will be arriving as well, so it should be a full do. Will that be enough to tempt you??

I won't be there this weekend, places to be, people to see and money to save :o(

I have a mates party to attend, where I have to spend the whole night keeping two former best mates apart to stop them wrecking the furniture :o|

At last, I'm travelling solo, so I can get into the Strawberry for the first time (another virgin, Dan), before and after. Got the mug shots, so if you lot can stand on a table I should be able to spot you through the masses. Dan,unless I can book a cheap train ticket, I'm driving up from West London, Richmond, about 6:00am Sat., back either late Saturday or early Sunday. Need a lift?

Jay - who's match is it ? Is wonkey going ? Homer and I will be in the Strawberry

Terry - any spare room for 'The King of Pain' hisself - Sting and his sidekick min? I promise not to chuck up....

we were looking at going early and getting back straight after the match - what are your plans?

;-)

The Villa game, I think it might be his dad

Min, If I travel straight back on the day it means no drinking, for me anyway (and you, if China Town is anything to go by). A lift is no problem up, and back. I'm leaving Richmond at 6 via the North Circular and then up the M1. Where will you be for pick up? Normally takes just under 4 hours to get to Newcastle, including a pee break, and assuming plod's not alert. I'll let you know by this time tomorrow when I'm intending coming back. Is there no way you can stay up overnight and travel back Sunday morning? Surely somebody somewhere who hasn't gotten wind of your reputation must be prepared to give you a floor for the night. Then again................

Already booked me train for Friday, but ta anyway. Shame, as I'm five minutes from Richmond. What time Sunday are you thinking of going back?

-- Anonymous, October 30, 2001

Dan Sunday morning about 9. Back by 1'ish. I'm staying at Rowlands Gill. Any good?

Hope you make it to the Strawb, dan, been chuckling over your postings for years and would really like to put a face to the name.

-- Anonymous, October 30, 2001

Bless you. Will you be wearing a pink carnation and carrying a copy of Razzle?

-- Anonymous, October 30, 2001

Tel -

I'll be going back later, thanks anyway.

-- Anonymous, October 30, 2001

Dan - he usually does. If not, we can point him out to you. Be prepared (for Gawd's sake, don't wear an anorak).

Mysterious,

cheers for the thought - can't stay up that night. Well, could but it would mean staggering back to my aunty's at some stupid hour and becoming 'least favourite nephew' and no chance of future visits.

Still, thanks for the offer - another time mebbes? See you in the Strawberry.

Gav and Bobby - Very disappointing lads.

Grant/Jim - got your message. i'll call you later - will we be calling at Runcorn and Crewe? can you not make it any earlier than 6:30am? ;-)

Min, if you're not already least favourite nephew, then the bloke who is must be a real corker. Probably a Mackem. See you in the Strawberry.
