"IT" [Matt.24:44

"It" lays' on the back porch snoozin, scratchin and sometimes watchin. The sunshine really takes a toll on this "thing". After an entire afternoon of workin around and cleanin up the yard this "thing" is still lay'n on the back porch, scratchin and yawn'n. Finally I'd had enough work for the day and came on in the house. The "thing" was still layin right exactly in the way of my big size 14 shoes. The inevitable happen'd. I stepped on "it's" tail and boy-you orta saw the life that was regenerated within the carcass of "it". I suppose now that I'll be in the dog house for this horrible act of "it" abuse!

I'm so tired methinks it's nap time for the old hillbilly. "it" already had "it's"! Who is "it" you ask? Why--Calvin the cat--that's who!

My dad always called the cats "vermin" -- but I believe they serve a very useful purpose -- I aspire to felinity....what could be better than knowing all chores are taken care of, all the work is done, and I can lie in the sun???

Forget Tony Robbins, cats are the world's great motivators.

ATTENTION! An update to "it". "It" was snoozin on Lil Dumplins bed awhile ago. They BOTH watch t.v. with the electric blanket on. Well ole "it" gets nappy and dozed off--alongside the edge of the bed. The inevitable happened. "It" rolled over a mite and fell off the bed. Lil Dumplin started laughin as "it" got back on the bed. The laughin of "it's" master was not well taken. "It" immediately started poutin and was visibally upset. Can we all say "ignore Lil Dumplin"? Ole Calvin got down off the bed, walked to the back door and hollered to go out---into the cold. Lil Dumplin let "it" out and "it" set on the porch rail lookin in the back door.

"It" set there for about 45 minutes before comin back in the house. Me livin a simple life? I don't think so!!! When a household is run by a cat that don't know if it's a "it, he or she" methinks---. I don't know what to think so rekon I'll just keep shut up and let the cat rule the roost--beins as "Johnny Roe Hoe" is gone. Now, supose ya'll'r wonderin who Johnny Roe Hoe is? Check the archives of Countryside Mag. It'll break yourn poor old heart to read about'm.

Cold weather is entering into these old bones. I thought winter's worst fury was almost over this spring. I've been hearin frogs since Feb. 20th, robins since about Feb 5th, Mr Mole and Mr Groundhog about the same time. I've had spring fever [not to be corn-fused with GOLD FEVER] since last part of January. The GOLD FEVER done and struck Lil Dumplin about a month ago--I NEVER LOST IT!

What's happenin at your farm? Is the daffodylls up yet? How about the early "dock" greens? Dandy-loins?

RE: plantin ham bones, steak bones etc in the garden in anticipation of a bumper crop next fall of lifes more expensive pleasures. I ain't! Corse I ain't plantin no SPAM cans either! Boy, after I quit et'n all that stuff--spam is nuff to gag a maggot!!!

Ya'll have a nice day tomorrow. Remembering to Praise the One who keeps this crazy world from totally destroying itself. We also need to hold up our family and friends [along with the lost] in prayer to the Father. Old hoot. Matt.24:44

Hoot---is is always a joy to hear your stories about "it" old Calvin- and also hear your preaching!!!!

Hubby & I went to a farm auction today------talk about COLD!!!!!!!!!

I sat in the front of his truck most of the day---covered up with a quilt----just listening to the auctioneer----but Hubby had fun!!!!

He bought some more chicken feeders & those fancy nests---other chicken stuff---and 8 oak chairs---a milkglass lamp-- Also hubby bought me some recipe books----so I had a great time sitting in the truck /in the sun wrapped up in a quilt reading cookbooks & recipes!!!!

It is still COLD (here/where we are) in Kansas----& no flowers are comming up yet--if they did /they would freeze their heads off!!!!! It is still like winter here!!! But I'm ready for Spring!!!!

Keep on telling us stories & preaching---brother---
