How to teach history

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACountryPlace : One Thread

Here is an article on teaching history that I highly recommend. It is so important that when teaching children we equip them for the world we live in. There is nothing that teaches that the way history does. There is a verse in the bible that says there is "nothing new under the sun". I think that is the reason that history must be taught.

Little bit:

Got to agree with you on the bible verse. It hits the mark for accuracy.

One thing to remember about history is that it has been changed to fit the political correctness of today. If you want to read real history get books that are about 40 or 50 years old or older. It is amazing what differences you will find in them.

Just the facts ma'am. That is what we need to know about history. We don't need some pinhead telling us what it says. I guess these people figure we are too dumb to figure it out for ourselves. Let us all hope they are wrong or we will have to relive it again and again.
