I am searching for information for my Sister. She was told by her Doctor, that she would not get Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis.

What she wants to know is what is it.

Any information that you could send would be gratly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis is a laying of calcium deposits along the pelvis and spine. I would imagine that what your sister's physician was referring to was heterotopic ossification, which is similar, following hip replacement, if that is the type of surgery she is having. I would suggest she ask her physician why he feels she would not be at risk for that. It is not possible to make a judgement without examining her and getting a full medical history.
