First please excuse me if my question is too naive, but before deciding to bother your goodselves with it, i searched the Internet using the usual search engines and came up empty.

What i know about it is that it's supposed to be a "syndrom" where a kidnapped person develops an attachment to the kidnapper. Is this correct and if so how would this happen from a psychological point of view??
