Today, October 27, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- saints whose souls are now in heaven:

Bl. Emilina (French, Cistercian nun, prophet, d. 1178)
St. Frumentius (Lebanese, shipwrecked missionary to Ethiopia, bishop, c. 380)
St. Gaudiosus of Naples (African, bishop, c.455)
Bl. Goswin (Cistercian monk in France, d. 1203)
St. Abban of Wexford (Irish, abbot, 6th century)
St. Abraham the Poor (Egyptian, hermit, c. 377)
Bl. Antonia of Brescia (Italian, Dominican prioress, d. 1507)
Sts. Capitolina and Erotheis (Cappadocian [Turkish], wealthy woman and maid, martyred in 304)
St. Colman of Senboth-Fola (Irish, Benedictine abbot, c. 632)
St. Cyriacus of Constantinople (Turkish, patriarch, d. 606)
St. Desiderius of Auxerre (French, bishop, c. 625)
St. Florentius of Burgundy (French, martyred in 3rd century)
St. Namatius of Clermont (French, bishop, c. 462)
St. Otteran of Iona (British, abbot, c. 563)
St. Vincent, Sabina, and Christeta (Spanish, brother and sisters, martyred in 303)

If you have anything to share about these holy people, please reply now -- biographical episodes, prayers through their intercession, the fact that one is your patron saint -- whatever moves you. If you are interested in one of these saints and want to find out more about him/her, please ask. Information is sometimes available on the Internet.

All you holy men and women, saints of God, pray for us.
God bless you.
John
