Damn.... I sure wish Patton was still around.

apoc, my dad detested Patton. Served under him as an Army "surgeon" for a while in WWII (Battle of the Hedgerows), and then landed in Iceland for the rest of the war. Patton was pretty abusive to his troops, especially the wounded and shell-shocked ones in the field hospitals.

Two things to remember as we watch our current war unfold. First, you never win a "new" war by fighting it like the last war. Second, when people are willing to die, in great numbers, they can beat you. Viet Nam should have taught us that. They were willing to die 10 to 1 against us, and they finally drove us out. Oh, one more thing, let's not forget that the Russians are tough people, who kicked the Nazi troops out of their land, but who got their own butts kicked out of Afghanistan. We have lived a protected life here. The Twin Towers was the first serious incident we have had on our own soil since the revolution but now that has all changed. And we are not invincible no matter what they portray in the movies. Again, remember Viet Nam.
