A new frontier in physics’ top quest

Researchers are trying to bridge the gap between general relativity, which explains the gravitational properties of galaxies and black holes; and quantum mechanics, which explains the behavior of subatomic particles. The efforts could lead to a "theory of everything." Click here or on the image for a graphic presentation on the "symphony of everything."

SCIENCE
WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 —  Scientists generally believe that everything happening in nature, from the birth of galaxies, to the hiccups of subatomic particles, obeys the same fundamental laws. An ultimate “theory of everything” that ties these laws together into one elegant package has eluded its pursuers for decades. A study in Friday’s issue of Science may provide a new route toward solving this tantalizing puzzle.

And before the geniuses start yapping, the equations on the illustration are more or less simple statements from some different areas of Physics. So don't think you are pointing out anything "incorrect" because they may not be. (Standard Nit-Picking techniques by fundies loons.)

And for those who question whether I know Math or not, the first line on the board is a Second Derivative in advanced notation which should be familiar to those who have passed elementary Quantum Physics or 2nd. Semester of Physical Chemistry.

The second is a double delta not in derivative form unless one restates it with (lim(F)) properly then going R2-->R3 or d(F) which anyone should know from Real Analysis.

Having an insecurity day?

There's a recent article about a part time bar bouncer with a 195+ IQ that's working on a book that includes in his 'theory of everything' the manifestation of thought. Will find and post.

"TOE" = God

Would be funny if God allowed those searching to figure out that HE is the "everything" they've been looking for!

Doomsday is at hand for "people" such as you.

ANOTHER VIEW
Dear Doctor Science,
Many scientists are now debating the SuperString Theory, suggesting that all of reality is the result of a string of diameter 10 to the negative 33rd power (or so) vibrating in ten dimensions. The implications of this are staggering, and, therefore, I was wondering, in light of such ground breaking new thought, who's your favorite Smurf?
-- Tripp Cook from Pikeville, KY
That would be Papa Smurf, though I bet you thought I was going to say "Brainy." No, Brainy reminds me of a lab partner I once had. All show and no substance. Time has a way of separating the wheat from the chaff and today that poor fellow appears on infomercials for a spray on hair replacement product. You'll notice that when the Smurfs get in a jam, it's Papa Smurf who wisely guides them to the proper conclusion.

Thank you for the info, I'll pass it on to Dr. Mark Frauschi, PhD Phhysics

You can discuss your insights with him at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/marketthoughts.

Mark helped discover the "top" quark.

I GI ta ta for now- what's "esad"? some middle eastern mantra? a cultic chant?

Ah yes, THE DR. "MARKIE". The "expert" on embedded systems who found credibilty in the "work" of BeachBall Doomzie Brucie Beach's "Theory of Secondary Clocks in embedded systems".

Dr. Markie who embarrassed himself by collecting information on embedded systems and the Railroads by asking a train conductor for his input.

Dr. Markie who walked door to door in the Sub-Division he lived in hanging flyers about "y2k and you" and then finding no one of his neighbors would come to a "discussion" at the home of Dr. Markie.

And what is Dr. Markie the DISGRACER of a Ph.D. in Physics doing these days? Still partneriing with Dr. Dementia of Georgetown, the reknowned Dr. DooDoo Carmichael, another BS Doomzie who didn't make a dime as a Y2k Consultant?

Is there any intelligent life left on this board?

If so, you are invited to http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/marketthoughts

We have lots of fine discussion there. It's a great place. Please visit.
