FS: Leica 35mm f/2 Asph.

Like new Leica 35mm f/2 Aspherical (black). With hood, pouch, all caps, all original paperwork and boxes.

I purchased this on 9/8/01. It's a USA version with Passport warranty (the card is in my name).

Turns out that I'm a 50mm guy with the RF. Just don't like the 35mm view and therefore I don't use this lens. I know, it's the classic Leica lens and I purchased on that reputation.

I've used it 6 times or so and there are no signs of use. It's like new in all respects. Delta International sells these grey market for $1124.00. I'll sell this one for $1030.00, plus $15.00 for shipping.

I guess I am very lucky to be in Hong Kong. A new grey market 35 f2 asph sells at us$950 only.

Tom, Why did you have to post this? If you are not interested in the item for sale then keep quiet!

Ray, As a Hong Kong citizen, I take the chance of promoting Hong Kong as a shoppers' paradise. It is also good to all leica lovers know the prices of leica products at different places of the world. So, Ray, why you are not keeping quite?

Haha, calm down Ray! I have to agree with Tom that Hong Kong is probably the best place to shop for Leica. Where else can you get a grey-market M6TTL for US 1,410 (= HK$ 11,000; at Salon, Tin Chueng and Kinefoto, for example)? But it's only worth it if you happen to be in Hong Kong. Tim's price for his 35/2 is very attractive for those living in North America and have no plan to come to Hong Kong in the near future.

Oops, forgot to identify myself in my post above. I wonder how it managed to get through?

Oops again, I was wrong; I did identify myself! Embarrassed myself in front of the whole Internet world, again. Now will you excuse me while I go find a hole . . . .

I think all of you can relax --- I think it is safe to assume that ANY participant in this forum has access to the internet :)

Hence, it is also a very safe assumption that we are all fairly well informed "global shoppers", and know what the geographic differences in prices are when it comes to Leica equipment...
