Question

Today I spoke to someone within NUFC, about a committee matter. Very hard work it all was, and to very little conclusion. An amazing, to me, comment was made.

And this is your question ...... how did the NUFC.COM cause us to lose to Spurs on Sunday ?

Answers

efficient as ever MacB!!!!

Presumably, they believe ".com" alerted Spurs to Bobby's tactical switch, and that this enabled them to counter it?

Frankly, I'd be surprised if Spurs could believe anyone would contemplate should a dumb move!

This should ensure that training is carried out behind closed doors for ever now.

Spurs didn't alter their usual format did they??

No - other than rubbing their hands, and laughing their socks off!

The fact that the club allowed a tactical leak (LOL) presumably doesn't matter. I half-thought that NUFC.COM were involved in a bit of skulduggery, trying to get Hoddle et al all excited about our change in tactics while in fact we were sticking to 4-4-2. I was sadly wrong.

But wouldn't Hoddle have figured it out when the teamsheets came round? Certainly once we took to the pitch. Blaming nufc.com is the lamest of lame cop-outs.

And this Committee member thinks that this is within the remit of the FLC? Does he/she want volunteers to spy on fellow fans and report any other such 5th columnist activities? We could all wear brown shirts and maybe little armbands to help identify ourselves.

I had this image of Hoddle with lap top on lap (obviously ?) in the team hotel whooping with joy at looking at NUFC.COM and seeing the secret revealed.

Actually none of you have managed to get the 'fact' that I was told about, although you are close.

I'm having real deja vu here: didn't the question of NUFC.COM leaking the team get blamed for another loss (possibly Chelsea Cup Semi)? That Poyet was going to be manmarked? They were scathing of the flag day?

So what was 'the fact' Macbeth? Or can you drop a large hint?

"We could all wear brown shirts and maybe little armbands to help identify ourselves"

Vat a vunderbar idea, Herr Grupenfuhrer Schoftie! First ve take ze Sunder-deten-land und den ze verld!

So it was Biffa playing in midfield & not Gary Speed. I suspected something was amiss when Speedy didn't managed half of his usual off the ball work.

-- Anonymous, October 26, 2001

It was that Robert Lee wasn't playing, although I'm pretty sure NUFC.COM didn't even say that.

The other amazing thing is that some people have been hacking in to their site and passing on the webcast as their own, rather than the club's. So many unbelievable comments in all that that I was speechless.

Who would nick a webcast that doesnt work?

-- Anonymous, October 26, 2001

MacB, did you check these people for white powder around their noses? Only time I've ever heard anyone come out with paranoid statements like that, was from drug (ab)users.

It really is more than a little worrying when it seems like the powers that be spend more time coming up with reasons to blame everyone and their mother rather than solve the very clear problems permeating the place.
