'TOON STAR HITS OUT AT TACTICS'

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Sky Sports running this headline as Robert states the bleeding obvious, i.e. that our tactics on Sunday were rubbish.

How long before the block is put on his web-site by NUFC? This 'story' is clearly a rehash of stuff he said on his site. He hardly 'hit out' at tactics did he?

Ridiculous.

What kind of headline would "Toon Star Gives Balanced Opinion" make? :-)

Dear...oh...dear...I know it's hard to face the lost game, but I wonder what would the news will be IF we WIN the game with three-five-two???

Sorry to have written this ;) but I think the Press in England (or maybe in the whole world???)is always put something more than the real fact is. Maybe Robert is a bit confused about the unussual tactic we've had last Sunday, but who in here can knows 100% of what he "really" said about it?

Just a small thought from nobody...

Would 50,000 Geordies hit out at tactics be a headline as well? Hell, it's only an opinion, if Bobby said that Shearer made a mistake by shooting instead of passing or something like that it would be fine, likewise Robert thinks it was a mistake that Bobby played that formation. Why the heck he didn't tell him that before the game I don't know.

I'm just wondering if Wayne Quinn or Robbie Elliott would have suited the role better yesterday? Maybe with Warren Barton as a right wing back?

Wayne Quinn or Robbie Elliott? No, but the prosecution would like to call one Olivier Bernard to take the stand............... I'd then rest my case (along with my umbrella and LapTop).

Aye, Bernard, forgot about him.

It was basically to do a bit defending, as Robert isn't a defensive player at all, Quinn and Elliott have been known to put in a few decent balls.

I was also thinking of Robert in a roaming midfield role, instead of Hughes, with either Quinn or Elliott (or Bernard now) on the left. Oh well, it's over now, not worth thinking about really.
