Apologies

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I'm sorry, I was in awful mood yesterday and apologise for it. I also apologise for thinking we'd lose before the game. In truth, the sense of impending doom was palpable on Sunday, whether because it was lamping it down, because the flag day has failed so spectacularly or whether everyone just thought we'd lose, I don't know, but it can't have helped the players. So, I'm sorry for my contribution to this.

I won't ;)

No need to apologise to me. I was fully empathising with you and your bad mood! Rotten game=rotten mood. Although I find I am recovering earlier than I used to. Used to take me until about Thursday to feel OK after a defeat. Now I'm usually able to hold a normal conversation by about Tuesday morning, even after a Sunday game.

Lynda,
You'll find you'll cheer up sooner and sooner after performances like that, as your realisation that it'll never get any better looms larger and larger. :-)

I did not notice any difference!

Indeed?

Do something to take your mind off it! After Sunday’s disaster I went to a gig at the University. The Quireboys, great basic rock’n’roll to make you sing along and jump around. I’m still buzzing from the show, the football is a distant memory! There was also a much better version of Blaydon Races from 150 people than 50,000 had managed all afternoon!

I was trying to lighten up, hence snooty "indeed" but I was obviously Ms.Understood ;)

The Quireboys are still going???? I have one of their albums - thought they'd disappeared without a trace. Isn't the lead singer from Ashington?

They split up but have just got back together with a couple of new members. Singer Spike is from Gateshead. They've also got a new album out which is excellent.
