I would like to know if there is any software to convert audio/video inputs directly to mpeg format and to the CD burner to to create a VCD on line and in Real time ?

If you need to do this, you'll have to buy a standalone recorder that can do it. Amoisonic and Terrapin make such recorders. Basically they are like a VCR that records VCD format to CD-R discs on the fly. There may be some weird compatibility issues with doing this on the fly recording, so be careful and do your research before buying something like this. This can't be done on a PC. You should be aware that Amoisonic claims to record in SVCD mode, but this is a deliberate deception. Amoisonic does not record MPEG-2 video at all and what they call Super VCD is nothing more than XVCD (VCD at higher, non-standard bit rates). I have only read about these recorders and have not used them, so I warn you that recording on the fly may (or may not) produce VCDs that are not quite standard and you may have problems playing them on other units.

Check out http://www.geocities.com/vcdcreator to read about the Terapin VCD recorder. They have links to published reviews and a forum for everything Terapin.
