We're moving today to a new hotel, again....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

This new one has a separate bedroom with a door that closes so that one can surf on line while the other is sleeping. It is a couple blocks closer to work, too.

Costs more though, but we're worth it.

The new place

Has a little 'cupboard' where you can get snacks without leaving the hotel, and they are on the honor system. In Miami yet! LOL

Also an exercise room, so I can go down there and work off the desk spread. LOL [I miss my bike.]

Gotta get packin' cuz checkout is at eleven here, which gives us a little over 30 minutes. I need sleep!!!!!

Later!

I trust it's not under the flight path. . .

Yes, you're worth it. I'd be climbing the walls, too, if I were sharing such a small space with one other person for an extended period of time. That was one of the main reasons I never attended a college where first year students were *required* to live in the dorm.

My husband and I had to live in a motel for almost a month after we bought our current house (had to wait for the electricians and plumber). Anyway, we never had to worry about getting in each other's way. Everyday, after work, we'd pick up something to eat, drive the thirty miles to the house, feed the cats, work on stuff 'til ten or eleven o'clock, drive back to the motel, and crash.

Going to the laundramat was the worse part--and I missed the kitties.

we're in.

Great place! having that bedroom separate from the rest of the place helps a lot!!!!!

They have a small vid library, including CD's for music? or whatever. We are very happy here instead of the last place.

Pictures to follow soon. I have to charge the camera and upload them.

Rain for a good part of the day, had to be the part when we were on the road going to get the laundry which wasn't ready. Had to wait 2 hours cuz they forgot to do it yesterday. errrr!!

rain rain rain. we found a few things that we didn't like about the repairs.

Watching the sci-fi channel now. I missed it! At least I get to see Far Side once in a while... right now we have Swamp Thing on.

Now I'm doing some html lessons. minimal but it's a start!

oops! about that flight path,,,, we thought we were inbetween the paths before, but turns out we were north of the northern runway. Now we are right in line with that one. LOL

I don't care, though. We are more comfortable now than we were before, although we now have been told that we should be looking for something with two bedrooms, since that is what we had before at home....it's a thought. We can do that for next week.! groan!

Barefoot,

Sounds like a nice place! So, how long are you all going to be there before you can move into home?

-- Anonymous, October 21, 2001

two weeks, estimated.

"Swamp Thing".... was that the shameless "B" movie with the gratuitous boob shots of Adrienne Barbeau? (One of my nephew's favorites)

Barefoot: I haven't been following what's going on, but are you temporarily out of your home?!

Barefoot, you might check with your insurance co., they may pay for all the laundy bills...they did ours.

-- Anonymous, October 21, 2001

yes, they cover the laundry bills. 'course now this place has free laundry. I guess it's built into the price of the rooms.
