THE UNOPENED envelope was found late Friday night as police combed the Post for evidence. The letter contained a small amount of a powdery substance, as have all the suspect letters found since the recent spate of anthrax cases began. Police launched their investigation after the Post announced Friday one of its employees tested positive for the bacteria.
Johanna Huden, assistant to Editorial Page Editor Bob McManus, was diagnosed with anthrax, the fourth such case connected to the news media in New York.
Across the nation, eight people have been diagnosed with the potentially fatal infection — including Brokaw’s assistant. Brokaw received a contaminated letter sent from Trenton, N.J., on Sept. 18. The letter sent to Daschle’s office was postmarked from Trenton on Oct. 9.

Nice to see that NYC has "returned to normal" as witnessed by the young woman's use of the NYC "howdy neighbor" greeting.

I thought that was the "California Howdie", but then I get confused about these things. Maybe it's being near a coast and it doesn't matter whether its East or West.

Anyway, I loved the sentiment.
