WHY CANT I PLAY VCDS????

ive just recently bought a dvd player(matsui 110) and i got shrek(vcd) with the vcd weerks on my uncles stand alone vcd player and not mine may i ask why? is there a way to fix this? thx Andy

Check out the list at the above URL. PRESS VCD and BURN VCD are not the same. One is professionally made by your friendly entertainment industries for sale, while the other is made by an entreprenure entertainment enthusiast at home. The disc that is used for each of the above categories are different. Which is why not all DVD players can handle both.

Not all DVD players support CD-R's. You may find your uncles does, and yours doesn't.

Check the documentation to see if there is any mention of CD-R or MP3. This is usually a good clue as to compatibility.

Matsui aren't a great builder of DVD players, the most compatible player I have seen is the Bush 2004.

I couldn't play any CD's or DVD's that were copies and was told that it is was hardware problem to do with a fault in reading 'multi session' disks.
