Busy digging around looking for a scarf for the morra. No luck yet may have to buy another one. Do they still sell the old ones with just the B & W stripes, no writing or anything? and do I need a couple of quid or a cheque book?

Yea, I saw that "flag day" thing in last weeks programme. It would look great if every1 had flags but does everyone know about this? The only reason i do is because i saw it in the programme.

Basically at the tottenham match. Fans liason comitte or whatever theyre called are giving out flags and encouraging fans to bring flags and scarves to make a great atmosphere.

I think this would be great but how many people on here already knew about this?

It won't be succesful unless everyone knows before the match. But I like the idea.

I'm taking my scarf which I had when I was 6 and my brother is taking a couple of flags that were bought in the club shop ages ago.

A few of my friends said that they are going to tie scarves to their hands and wave them about during the match (which could get annoying for people sitting behind them).

The selection of flags in the club shop is crap - one flag costing a tenner and obviosuly designed for bairns.

I've got a scarf from the 70s/80s somewhere, will try and find it!

Get you scarfs and flags out now.

I was desperate for it to be the Liverpool game but we couldn't get the club moving. We won't be there tomorrow so I need you all to join in !

The flags will obviously add to the atmosphere but how will scarves make any difference? Unless of course every1 holds them up. any ideas?

The scarves will give the meeker fans something to hold up in the air, so they don't feel like a fool standing there with their arms up. Eveyone else might start singing and they might join in. It's a good idea IMO, hopefully it becomes a standard thing for every home match after this, not just the Spurs game.

Same way Celtic and Liverpool do it: hold 'em up between outstretched arms and the caes disappear to be replaced by a sea of black and white with flags waving above. Could be mighty impressive in the same way that stupid business of holding up coloured cards can make you go "Ooh!" (and also why we boycotted it at SoS).

Macbeth, FLC biz, after scarf and flag day can I suggest a Wooden Rattle Day, this can be combined by the return of "The Mascot", he only did cup-ties tho!! and also pre match entertainment to be supplied by the Felling Fusliers Kazoo Ensemble with at half time a demonstration of clog dancing by Jackie Toaduff the world champion from Stanley. Too much to ask I suppose if the meal fayre could include peanuts 6d a bag variety.

Great! But are there gonna be any of those huge flags that get passed around the stands by the crowd?

And will flags be given out around the stadium before hand?

Actually some club or other gave away free plastic rattles to their fans to try to get some atmosphere going...Probably Brentford since they are so keen on treating their Worthington money from us as pennies from heaven (see last week's free to all match against Peterborough).

Don't know about the rest of the ground, but inside turnstile 91/92 they had started off by confiscating all flags and then taken to only removing the poles. Considering as how we were only half full when some bloke from Metro was piped into the ground shouting "Make some noise!" etc, it was an utter waste of time seeing as how those who hadn't had their flags nicked were too pissed off to want to. If the guy had actually been on the field imploring the different stands to join in then it might still have worked. Another good idea spoiled by piss-poor communication.

Just as a matter of interest Dougal - Brentford's free match last week was nowt to do with the money they got from us. It was actually advertised as far back as August. Good luck to 'em I say. When did our board every do owt except rip us off!
